Blacks in the Scriptures

Let's bring on the Jesus juice for a minute. I'm a very spiritual person as I'm sure a lot of you are and if your not just skip to the next post. Growing up I've had to deal with being a young Black girl in a White world..When I was growing up there were hardly any Black Barbie dolls (damn am I giving my age away or what?) and what was available for me at that age were just about the ugliest things out there so I would kind of want the White ones just because they made them prettier...a lot of you know exactly what I mean. I grew up going to church on a regular and reading my Bible without really understanding it. But I'm sure you all can relate to reading Revelations and reading the part of Jesus and his hair of Wool and burnt feet..I held onto that as a child and adult and I always said that Jesus was Black.

As I grew older and could really understand what was in the scriptures I started to have even more questions about race. It seemed to me that in the great book (bible) there was always some damn thing saying that cursed be the (whomever) with "blackness" of the skin etc etc..and I know some of you know exactly wth I'm talking about. After a while it got me wondering what did that "really" mean? I eventually got tired of wondering so I stopped. I got tired of walking into churches and the pastor is driving a Bentley with the money we gave every Sunday or he's wearing gator shoes...I mean come on guys that had to kill you..

One day I met a man by the name of Marvin Perkins, that was about a year ago and I must say he has profoundly changed my opinion of Christians, the Holy Bible and several other holy scriptures that are available. This man alone can show you and answer all of your questions regarding race in Christianity. He and his colleague Darius Gray break down the tribes of Israel - they can show you our very lineage throughout Biblical times and make you proud to be who you are. I wish this man was in my life 25 years ago. The best thing is when Jesus lineage was followed and shown to be from African heritage...yea I said it Jesus was a brother ...for those of you inclined to know more youtube Blacks in the scriptures or go to

You can watch some clips of his videos but most importantly you should try to find out when he will be having a fireside near you. There is NOTHING like sitting through one of his firesides and hearing this man speak. Having ALL of your questions answered...it's amazing what skin color really meant back in the day and what it means now....anywhoo...that's enough jesus juice for now on to the Gossip
