Imagine all that time and he was hiding in the attic? Are you kidding me?
From my understanding, this was a little boy who is extremely adventurous. he is often experimenting and searching the skies for storms. I'm a mother and since I have a child that is like that meaning you MUST keep your eyes out why in the hell would you have something like that available for that child to tamper with? Children are naturally curious let alone the extreme inquisitive ones..If that boy is injured or dead somewhere charges need to be put on his parents.

After a soft landing in a pasture, rescue workers began looking for the young Heaney but neither he nor the basket he was believed to be in where attached to the experimental helium-powered aircraft.
EARLIER: Authorities scoured the skies Thursday for a 6-year-old boy who unhooked the Heaney family's experimental balloon-powered aircraft and floated away from home near Ft. Collins, Colorado, officials said.
On Thursday morning, according to the family and officials, the boy got onto the aircraft, which is approximately 20 feet by 5 feet and covered in tin foil, and detached the rope holding it in place.
Several people in the neighborhood said they saw the aircraft floating over their homes and some snapped pictures.
Police searched the Heaney house to make sure he wasn't in the house and he is believed to have been in the runaway craft when it was launched.

wow!!Police should have done a search from top to bottom of the perimeter of the home AND he was i the ATTIC all that time!!! forced wasted!!
