Another soldier down

MIAMI (CBS/AP) FIU running back Kendall Berry was stabbed to death in an incident on the school's main Miami campus late Thursday night, immediately sending shock and grief across the university community and launching police on a search for multiple suspects. The 22-year-old Florida International football player was stabbed around 9 p.m., said Miami-Dade police Det. Javier Baez. Police were interviewing "several people that observed the incident," Baez said, though he could not confirm if any suspect was in custody. Baez said the stabbing took place just outside the front doors of the campus recreation center, where he said the football team and other FIU athletes train. According to officials, Berry was involved in an argument with one or more people.

"One produced some type of a weapon and stabbed him," Baez said.

"When you put the football in his hands, that kid can do some unbelievable things," football coach Mario Cristobal said late last season of Berry.

Shortly after the university confirmed Berry's death, FIU indefinitely postponed football coaching clinics scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

May he rest in peace

Did you sleep in this bed??

A mother of five was found dead; after her body was discovered stuffed in a hotel room bed frame, where she and her children were staying. Sony Millbrook was staying at a Budget Lodge in Mason, Tennessee with her boyfriend and children's father LaKeith Moody at the time of her reported disappearance. Millbrook's family reported her missing when she did not show up to pick up her children from school on January 27th.

"On that day, the hotel locked the room out because of lack of payment," Major Joe Scott with the Memphis Police Department said.

The next day, the hotel staff put her belongings in storage and housekeeping cleaned the room. For two months, Millbrook's body was under a bed in room 222 at the Budget Lodge on East Brooks Road and it was reported that a total of five guests stayed in the room before the body was found.

"Hotel staff reported to management there's something wrong in this room," said Scott, but it was obviously ignored.

At the time of Millbrook's disappearance, Moody was under order of protection to stay away from her. Police state that after Millbrook's disappearance, Moody also was missing for a few week until he was arrested driving the missing mother's car.

"He had recently gotten out of jail and was staying with her at the Budget Lodge," Scott said.

After the arrest, police interrogated Moody and arrested him on an unrelated warrant of a convicted felon in possession of a gun. At this point, Moody is only a person of interest in the case, but one of the last people to see Millbrook.

I just don't understand how a person could kill the mother or father of their children...

Senator busted at Gay club...smh

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Sen. Roy Ashburn, R-Bakersfield, has apologized for his arrest Wednesday morning on suspicion of drunk driving.

"I am deeply sorry for my actions and offer no excuse for my poor judgment," Ashburn said in a statement issued late Wednesday afternoon. "I accept complete responsibility for my conduct and am prepared to accept the consequences for what I did."

The California Highway Patrol stopped Ashburn about 2 a.m. in downtown Sacramento, because his vehicle was weaving in traffic, according to Sgt. Rick Campbell. The arresting officers noted the smell of alcohol coming from Ashburn's state-issued black Chevy Tahoe, Campbell said. Ashburn, who Campbell called "cooperative," was booked into the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department jail just before 4 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent or higher. The senator was subsequently released.

The Sacramento County District Attorney's office said Thursday that Ashburn had a blood-alcohol level content of .14 percent, well above the .08 legal limit.

"I am also truly sorry for the impact this incident will have on those who support and trust me – my family, my constituents, my friends and my colleagues in the Senate,” Ashburn said in Wednesday's statement sent to Eyewitness News.

The CHP said Ashburn was not alone. There was a male passenger in the SUV. The man was not identified, but the CHP said he was not a lawmaker. Sources tell Eyewitness News' CBS sister-station in Sacramento, KOVR, that Ashburn had been at a nightclub called Faces prior to his arrest. KOVR's story states that Faces is a gay nightclub in midtown Sacramento.

Project Vote Smart shows Ashburn has a consistent record of voting against gay-rights issues, including four "nay" votes last year. Those Senate bills included recognizing out-of-state gay marriages and establishing a day to recognize slain gay rights activist Harvey Milk.

MIND YOU THIS IS THE SAME DUDE THAT WAS VOTING AGAINST GAY RIGHTS YET HE WAS CAUGHT AT A *GAY* CLUB LEAVING WITH A MUCH YOUNGER BOY TOY....

Is that even fair?

Brittney Griner, the Baylor University star known for her gravity defying dunks, is likely to face discipline after punching Texas Tech player Jordan Barncastle in the face during a game Wednesday night.

High School Principle Arrested for having sex with kids

North Carolina police arrested an assistant high school principal after they say he had sexual relations with two of his students, often on school grounds. Police say that Aaronson Franks had sexual relationships with two Central Carrabus high school students---one under the age of 16, in the past two years. Court documents allege that Franks would conduct sexual practices with the girls on school property, leading them to a secluded building where only he had access. Police were notified of his behavior after one of the girls confessed to her mother. Franks is being charged one count of statutory rape, two counts of statutory sexual offense, three counts of sexual activity with student by administrator, one count of taking indecent liberties with a student, and four counts of indecent liberties with children.

Man I can't believe he would ruin his life over some high school azz. I hope they tear his ass up in jail...

Killer Whale Kills At Seaworld

For those of you that follow me on Twitter you know that I mentioned this yesterday.

A veteran trainer at Orlando’s SeaWorld was dragged under water to her death Wednesday in the jaws of Tilikum, the oldest and largest killer whale in captivity, as horrified onlookers watched. Tourists eating poolside at a daily event called “Dining With Shamu” watched the whale drown 40-year-old Dawn Brancheau. Tourists in an underwater viewing area saw the whale swim by, flipping the bleeding trainer over and over in his mouth.

“It was terrible. It’s very difficult to see the image,” Brazilian tourist Joao Lucio DeCosta Sobrinho, 28, told reporters.

SeaWorld suspended its famous water shows as officials tried to figure out what had happened. Witnesses described vastly different events: One said Brancheau was patting the whale when he grabbed her arm and dragged her into the water. Another said the big bull orca leaped up out of nowhere and began shaking her.

The whale “shot up in the air, grabbed the trainer by the waist and started thrashing [her] around,” witness Victoria Biniak told Orlando’s WKMG-TV. “It was violent.”

Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Solomons said Brancheau slipped and fell into the water with the 30-year-old, 6-ton Tilikum, who is not accustomed to people in his tank. A number of park visitors said several of the whales had appeared unsettled earlier in the day and were not responding to trainers. Tilikum, whose name means “friend” in the Native American language Chinook, has killed before – always unwittingly.

In 1991, a marine biology student and part-time trainer fell into his tank in Canada and was dragged under by Tilikum. The whale and two females blocked her from getting out of the pool and tossed her back and forth in the air between them like a toy. In 1999, there was a case so bizarre it made headlines around the world: A man sneaked into Tilikum’s pool at SeaWorld and his naked corpse was found the next day splayed on the whale’s back. Experts chalked up both incidents to the orca’s misguided attempts at playing. The huge, scary-looking mammals do not generally attack humans.

Brancheau was aware of the dangers posed by the giant marine mammals.

“You can’t put yourself in the water unless you trust them and they trust you,” she told The Orlando Sentinel for a profile published four years ago.

The water park was closed until the weekend. Officials said they did not yet know when the orca show would resume.

“All of our standard operating procedures will be under review,” park President Dan Brown said.

Experts said they weren’t sure what set off the whale.

“What he did in the previous two incidents were not attacks – to him, the people were toys, and to a whale, being under water for 20 minutes is nothing. This sounds a little more like an attack,” said Naomi Rose, a senior scientist at the Humane Society of the United States.

It was unclear what will happen to Tilikum.

Brancheau’s sister Diana Gross said last night that her sibling “would not want anything done to that whale..”She loved the whales like her children, she loved all of them,” said Gross, of Indiana.

Rose suggested Tilikum be retired to a sea pen in Iceland, like Keiko, the killer whale Hollywood made famous in 1993’s “Free Willy.” Rose said such tragedies prove that wild animals should not be kept in pens to perform for tourists. Killer whales are social and intelligent creatures but get stressed in pens, she said.

Mom kills newborn by suffocation

CHICAGO (STMW) -- The 25-year-old mother of a newborn has been charged with murder after allegedly hiding the baby girl in a plastic bag in her North Side closet Friday evening.

Marisol Molina, of the 6100 block of North Sheridan Road, has been charged with one count of murder, police News Affairs said Monday.

Baby girl Molina, born on Thursday, was found dead at 6157 N. Sheridan Rd., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner’s office spokesman, who said the newborn was found dead in a closet. A Saturday autopsy come back inconclusive and is pending further studies, the medical examiner’s office said. Marisol Molina gave live birth to the baby and then placed the baby inside a plastic bag and concealed the bag in a closet, causing her death, police said. Police were notified of the death about 6:30 p.m. Friday, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said. It was unclear who called police.

Turns out the hospital called the police after her boyfriend took her to the ER because she was feeling sick. When they had to deliver the placenta they of course knew the bitch gave birth and that's when she confessed to killing the little baby...I hope someone shanks her azz in prison.

Man Rapes Woman And Continues To Watch Movie With Family

ONTARIO, Ohio (CBS) Samson Ojo, a 24-year-old Ohio man, took a bathroom break at the movie theater to rape a young woman, then returned to finish watching the film with his wife and kids. On Sunday, Feb. 14, Ojo allegedly followed the 21-year-old woman out of a movie at the Cinemark Theater about 70 miles north of Columbus. Police say he stalked her in the bathroom, then forced her into an empty movie theater where he raped her. Ojo's wife helped police catch her husband because she was suspicious that he left the theater more than once. The wife told police at one point Ojo sat behind the 21-year-old woman in the movie theater and she came up to him and asked him what he was doing. The cops went on to say that Ojo was not surprised at all when he was arrested. In fact, he had no reaction at all.

The man is charged with rape and kidnapping.

The alleged victim told Fox 8 News, "The thing that makes me the most sick about it, is that he went and sat back down like nothing had happened." "I want to feel like me, I don't feel like me," the woman told Fox. "You don't react. You don't know what to do."

"It's a very horrific crime, in my eyes," Ontario, Ohio Police Chief Rodney Smith told the channel.

Jesus this world is so sick, you can't be safe anywhere anymore....

The Truth About Tiger's Speech

This is SUPERB!!!!

Say this much about Tiger: People give a crap. I don't know anyone who didn't watch this morning's speech. There isn't another athlete -- not one -- who could have made the world stop from 11 to 11:15 like Tiger Woods did.

And with that, we're done with the positives. I thought it was a borderline train wreck. It amazes me that Tiger learned little to nothing from the past two months. The control freak whose life slipped out of control dipped right back into control-freak mode, reading a prepared speech in front of a hand-selected audience of people, taking no questions, talking in clichés and only occasionally seeming human. Everything about it seemed staged. Everything. When the main camera broke down at the nine-minute mark and Tiger had to be shown from the side, I half-expected to see that he was plugged in to the wall.

Whatever. I was going to leave it alone. After all, that had to have been a humiliating experience for the guy. But listening to talking heads praise that ludicrous speech pushed me over the edge. Someone actually said, "It came from the heart." It did? Was it C3PO's heart? I thought it seemed like an automated response from Microsoft's new "Cheater's Confession" program.

Let's look at the facts. Tiger cheats on his wife relentlessly and brazenly. She finds out somehow. This leads to him crashing his car in the wee hours of Thanksgiving night. Scandal. Cover-up. More women come out. And more. And more. Tiger disappears like Jimmy Hoffa. Elin stops wearing her ring. Tiger stays hidden. Rumors swirl. By hiding, by not saying anything, Tiger enables every rumor and negative story to gain steam. When he sneaks away to a sex rehab clinic for 45 days, neither Tiger or his representatives acknowledges rumors that he's there. He emerges with a staged jogging photo op; one day later, three other photos of Tiger hitting golf balls, even seeming jovial in one of them, hit the wires. And then, today's prepared remarks. That came from the heart. Just as long as you didn't ask a follow-up question.

When we first saw the room in Ponte Beach Verde, Fla., it looked like the start of a "Saturday Night Live" episode: small podium, blue curtain, some heads. The camera panned the crowd, revealing that there apparently had been an emergency casting call for somber white people in blazers. (Why didn't I get an invite? I own a blazer! I could have looked somber!) At 11:01 a.m. ET, Tiger emerged from the back, and I remember thinking that it would have been awesome if he were naked from the waist down.

He spoke for the next 13 and a half minutes. He spoke … like this. There was … no emotion … in his words. His face … was blank … and empty. Part of me … felt bad … for him. There were … a couple of moments … when it seemed … like … he was trying … to shed a tear … or have his voice catch … just for effect. You get … the idea.

People wondered why Tiger opted for a prepared speech instead of the traditional move for disgraced celebrities: Sitting down for an interview with "20/20" or "Primetime." You saw why as he was reading his statement. Tiger isn't capable of discussing this stuff with depth or emotion. He can't ad-lib about his feelings, and never could. It would have been awful. Like so many other mega-celebrities who became famous too early, it's as though they never properly develop the part of their brain that controls this question: "How can I win over the person I'm talking to right now?" When you become famous too early, you don't have to win over anyone. You just have to exist. You become constantly wary. You start watching what you say around people you don't know. You measure any potential friend or business partner by one question: "What do they want from me?"

That's one reason he ended up in this mess. The other was more simple: Normal rules don't apply to celebrities. This is what bothered me so much about Tiger entering sex rehab. Look, if he really does have a problem, fine. But if Tiger needs rehab, then so does half of the professional sports world. In Miami for the Super Bowl two weekends ago, I saw one famous athlete creeping on more girls than Ronnie, Pauly D and The Situation combined. In the era of cell phones and texts, post-Tiger scandal, you would have thought he'd be more careful. It became the running joke of the weekend. Uh-oh, there he is again! Still creeping! But that's what these guys do. If we learned anything from the Tiger scandal, it's that the celebrity debauchery circuit was much more complex than we ever imagined.

In "A Few Good Men," one of my favorite scenes is when Kevin Bacon is cross-examining the guy from "ER" and asks him why "Code Red" isn't in the rulebook, then Tom Cruise redirects and points out that the mess hall isn't in there, either. Remember that? So how do you know how to get to the mess hall? You just follow the crowd. That's the answer. And that's what Tiger did this decade. He followed the crowd. He just got caught.

Should he have been contrite? Of course. But just be honest about it. My least favorite part of the speech: "But still, I know I have bitterly disappointed all of you. I have made you question who I am and how I could have done the things I did. I'm embarrassed that I have put you in this position. For all that I have done, I am so sorry. I have a lot to atone for."

Big mistake. And plastic. I would have played the "I became a celebrity too soon, I had too many people kissing my butt too soon, I had everything handed to me, I began to think I was invincible and that my behavior had no consequences" card right here. Hell, I even would have compared myself to a child actor or a musician who becomes too famous too young. If the goal of the speech was to make people realize why he did what he did and seem contrite, why not try to connect with us instead of impersonating the little girl from "Small Wonder"? Arrrrrgh.

Tiger was properly hard on himself at times. He said "I'm deeply sorry" and "I'm sorry." He called his behavior "irresponsible and selfish." He called himself "selfish" and "foolish." There was a weird moment when he said that "Elin and I have started the process of discussing the damage caused by my behavior. As Elin pointed out to me, my real apology to her will not come in the form of words. It will come from my behavior over time." Then he said, "However, what we say to each other will remain between the two of us." Well, except for that part about behavior over time.

The best part of the speech: "My behavior has caused considerable worry to my business partners, to everyone involved in my foundation, including my staff, board of directors, sponsors and, most importantly, the young students we reach. Our work is more important than ever. Thirteen years ago, my dad and I envisioned helping young people achieve their dreams through education. This work remains unchanged and will continue to grow. From the Learning Center students in Southern California to the Earl Woods scholars in Washington, D.C., millions of kids have changed their lives and I am dedicated to making sure that continues."

Had I written the speech for him, I would have started there, and actually, I would have started with an anecdote about Tiger's father and the man's expectations for his son. We found out about Tiger through Earl. We grew attached to Tiger through Earl. They had one of the best father/son relationships in sports. Earl was the one person who made Tiger seem like anything other than a golf-ball-cracking cyborg. Like so many others, I wondered if Tiger lost his way after Earl's death, no different than Jordan riding a Double-A bus in 1994. If the goal of this news conference was to get people to feel sorry for him and give him another chance, then Tiger should have gone there. It wouldn't have been disingenuous. It would have been true. And it would have made him seem more human.

Letting down a foundation that he started with his late father … wasn't that a bigger deal than letting down Nike or Notah Begay III? Wasn't that the underrated collateral damage here? Only a few athletes have a chance to make a real difference in the community; Tiger has the chance, but his behavior made it more difficult. Anyone can get married, anyone can have kids, anyone can be good at their job. Not everyone can change the lives of tens of thousands of people.

[+] EnlargeTiger Woods
Scott Halleran/Getty Images When will Tiger be back on the PGA Tour? He didn't announce a return date.

That wasn't the only tactical mistake Tiger made. He went on attack about Thanksgiving night, saying, "Some people have speculated that Elin somehow hurt or attacked me on Thanksgiving night. It angers me that people would fabricate a story like that."

To be fair, Tiger, you crashed your car while leaving your house at 2:30 a.m., you weren't wearing shoes, your neighbors found you asleep on the sidewalk and your wife holding a golf club, the back windows of your cars were smashed in, the accident wasn't reported for 12 hours, and then you disappeared for 10 weeks. You never told us what happened. You got terrible advice from your advisors and opened the door for people to imagine crazy scenarios for what happened that night. Don't blame us.

He followed with this: "Elin never hit me that night or any other night. There has never been an episode of domestic violence in our marriage, ever. Elin has shown enormous grace and poise throughout this ordeal. Elin deserves praise, not blame." Let's hope this is true, because if it's not, then nobody will ever be able to trust anything Tiger Woods says again.

The worst part of the speech: "I was unfaithful. I had affairs, I cheated. What I did is not acceptable. And I am the only person to blame. I stopped living by the core values that I was taught to believe in. I knew my actions were wrong, but I convinced myself that normal rules didn't apply. I never thought about who I was hurting. Instead I thought only about myself. I ran straight through the boundaries that a married couple should live by. I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to. I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled. Thanks to money and fame, I didn't have far -- I didn't have to go far to find them. I was wrong, I was foolish. I don't get to play by different rules."

It's hard to explain how insufferable this was live, because on paper, it doesn't seem so bad. But I had a number of problems with it, including …

• He came off like Schwarzenegger in "Terminator 2."

• His premise was false. Really famous people DO get to play by different rules. Sorry. We enable them.

• I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me has to rank among the worst excuses in the history of mankind. Christ, Tiger, you're pretending that you put real thought into this? You thought you DESERVED to enjoy all the temptations around you? That's your explanation? Trust me, you should have gone with, "I got married too soon, I should have sowed my oats first, I didn't, I'm an ass." Much better. We could relate to that. Instead, you came off like a horny robot. Again, I think you should fire everyone at IMG and start over. They are doing you damage.

Back to the speech. I really liked this part: "It's not what you achieve in life that matters, it's what you overcome. Achievements on the golf course are only part of setting an example. Character and decency are what really count. Parents used to point at me as a role model for their kids. I owe all those families a special apology. I want to say to them that I am truly sorry."

Fantastic. That should have been the second point in his speech, right after he talked about how he felt bad about ruining his charity foundation and letting down his late father, and just before he talked about the damage to his wife and kids. I thought it was fascinating that he apologized to his business partners well before he apologized to those families. Whatever.

Another part I liked: When he begged the paparazzi to leave his wife and kids alone. Sorry, they're always going to bug your wife, Tiger. She married a public figure. But the kids … yes. Agreed. Kids should always be off-limits. You could have gone further here. Anyone with kids would have felt bad for you.

Things tailed off near the end when he mentioned being "raised a Buddhist" and "actively practiced my faith from childhood until I drifted away from it in recent years." I would say so. As Tiger said, "Buddhism teaches that a creation of things outside ourselves causes an unhappy and pointless search for security. It teaches me to stop following every impulse and to learn restraint. Obviously, I lost track of what I was taught." That's an understatement. If this is true, he's one of the worst Buddhists of all time.

He talked about needing more treatment, and about "the importance of looking at my spiritual life and keeping in balance with my professional life." (This sounded like it was written through one of those Russian-to-English translators.) He thought he needed "to regain my balance and be centered, so I can save the things that are most important to me: My marriage and my children." (Better late than never.) He said he planned to return to golf one day, but "I just don't know when that day will be." (That groan you heard came from everyone who couldn't have been more excited about the 2010 Masters, including me.)

By this point, I was making the same face that an airplane passenger makes in the first few seconds after an unclaimed fart. Tiger mercifully ended the proceedings by saying, "Finally … there are many people in this room … and there are many people at home … who believed in me. Today … I want to ask for your help. I ask you … to find room in your heart … to one day … believe in me again. Thank you."

He seemed to get choked up, but we couldn't tell because the main camera broke and he had been shot from the left side for about four minutes. The conspiracy theorist in me wondered if the broken camera was part of the plan. Either way, I left the speech angry -- not at the speech itself, but by the fact that someone who said, "I was wrong, I was foolish. I don't get to play by different rules" continued to think he could play by different rules.

I want to come clean. Just under my terms. And you can't ask me anything.

In a few weeks, or a few months, Tiger will start hitting golf balls and everything will be fine again. I just want to get there. For now, we apparently have to put up with a few more weeks (and possibly months) of the Tiger Woods Rehabilitation Tour. There will be more rehab, more staged photos, more secrecy and eventually a carefully planned interview with the right person who won't be a threat to ask him anything interesting. Wake me up when he plays a tournament. And if you want to watch a clip of the speech, just watch the first 10 seconds that started with the curtain. It's still there.

Cop Crashes While Drunk Off Of Mimosas

An off-duty cop and two passengers were injured in a drunken driving accident early Saturday when their car flipped over and slammed into Tiffany’s famed midtown storefront, police said. Officer Raphael Ospina was behind the wheel when his luxury car plowed into a garbage truck at the corner of 57th St. and Fifth Ave. before careening onto the sidewalk at 3 a.m. Blood was splattered throughout the inside of the crumpled Chrysler 300, but while all three men were rushed to Bellevue Hospital, their injuries were not considered life-threatening, officials said.

First of all did they really report that a Chrysler 300 was a luxury car? Sorry I digressed...

A champagne cork and a carton of Tropicana orange juice were spotted inside Ospina’s car, which had its windshield shattered in the crash. Its roof was cut off by firefighters to rescue the men trapped inside. Ospina, 27, was charged with driving while intoxicated and vehicular assault.

His brother defended the cop – but when asked if the officer had driven drunk before, he answered, “I’m sure he has.” “He’s the type of guy everybody likes to be around – he puts people in a good mood,” said Daniel Ospina, 19, at the family’s Fresh Meadows, Queens, home.

“I have to stick up for him, he’s my brother,” said the younger Ospina. “Everyone makes mistakes. Nobody’s perfect.”

“He’s an awesome guy,” the brother said. “He’s not a bad cop.”

What an idiot...

Investigators believe the garbage truck from Five Star Carting Inc. was traveling west on 57th St. and turned south onto Fifth Ave. when it collided with the Chrysler. The spinning sedan was propelled onto the sidewalk where it knocked over a tree and garbage can before slamming into Tiffany’s, damaging the front facade of the iconic jewelry store. One of Ospina’s passengers suffered a broken arm, while the cop broke three ribs and suffered a head laceration, officials said. The other passenger was treated and released. The driver of the garbage truck, identified by his co-workers as Juan Santiago, was not hurt. Santiago, who remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with investigators, was shaken by the wreck, one colleague said.

I'm not trying to be funny drunk driving is a very serious crime. I have had loved ones die from drunk drivers it's not a joke...but were THREE grown azz men REALLY drinking Mimosas??? I mean seriously?

CBS does not play fair

CBS has officially rejected this Super Bowl commercial for the gay dating website ManCrunch.com. A bunch of bitches are lighting their torches over this decision, because they don't think it's right that CBS rejected this ad but approved a pro-life commercial starring Tim Tebow (which is probably going to be gayer than ManCrunch's ad). CBS only had this to say for themselves:

"After reviewing the ad - which is entirely commercial in nature - our Standards and Practices department decided not to accept this particular spot. As always, we are open to working with the client on alternative submissions."

A rep for ManCrunch believes that if the ad featured a chick and a dude kissing, CBS would've accepted it. The rep also said that the company has the cash to pay for the spot, because they recently raised $40 million from investors.

Teen performing arts student attacked by White officers

A teen violinist who was severely beaten by Pittsburgh police on January 12th and had his dreadlocks ripped out from his skull is recovering. 18 year-old Jordan Miles was approached by the police who thought he had a gun but what turned out to be a soda bottle under his coat.

His mother Terez Miles stated to The Associated Press,

“I feel that my son was racially profiled. It's a rough neighborhood; it was after dark. … They assumed he was up to no good because he's Black. My son, he knows nothing about the streets at all. He's had a very sheltered life, he's very quiet, he doesn't know police officers sit in cars and stalk people like that.”

Jordan's head is now shaved and his eye is still slightly swollen and bloodshot while the three white officers have been reassigned. A judge continued the case until Feb. 18 after the officers failed to appear at a hearing Thursday, Miles' attorney, Kerrington Lewis, said. The police department is saying little as it investigates, and isn't releasing the officers' names. The confrontation began around 11 p.m. Jan. 12, when the teenager walked out of his mother's home and headed to his grandmother's, where he spends most nights. His mother complimented him on the new jacket he had gotten for his birthday.

“It looks handsome,” she said, smiling as he walked down the front steps.

As Miles walked up the block, he noticed three men sitting in a white car, “but I thought nothing of it,” he said.

The criminal complaint says Miles was standing against a building “as if he was trying to avoid being seen.” But he says he was walking when the men jumped out of the car.

“Where's the money?” one shouted, according to Miles. “Where's the gun? Where's the drugs?” the other two said. “It was intimidating; I thought I was going to be robbed,” Miles said.

That's when he says he took off back to his mother's house but slipped on the icy sidewalk. Before he could pull himself up, Miles said, the men were at his back.

“That's when they started beating me, punching, kicking me, choking me,” he said.

Not until 15 minutes later, when uniformed officers drove up in a van and Miles overheard their conversation, did he realize he had been arrested. Initially, when the handcuffs clamped around his wrists, he thought he was being abducted. The police believed Miles, who appeared to have something heavy in his pocket, was carrying a gun, according to the affidavit. The police say they used a stun gun on the teenager. According to the affidavit, the object in Miles' pocket turned out to be a bottle of Mountain Dew. But Miles says he didn't have anything in his pocket and rarely drinks Mountain Dew.

“The story just doesn't make sense when you read the affidavit,” said Lewis, the teen's attorney.

Miles said the family is considering suing the police department and the officers.

“I knew that he hadn't done anything wrong,” his mother said. “That's just not an option for Jordan.”

Pittsburgh police have reassigned the three officers and put them back in uniform while the city investigates, spokeswoman Diane Richard said. She declined to say whether racial allegations are part of the probe.

Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl is "taking this very seriously," said his press secretary, Joanna Doven. "The case is being investigated, he's closely monitoring it. He's met with the chief."

Meanwhile, Jordan Miles says he awaits a physician's approval to return to school and is suffering from nightmares and flashbacks. Once he's done with school, he says, he hopes to attend Penn State University — and study crime scene investigation. Miles plays the viola for a jazz band and the orchestra at Pittsburgh's prestigious Creative and Performing Arts High School. His mother also plans to file a civil rights claim against the renegade cops.

These mutha phuckin bitches are still on the street! Jesus why isn't this story getting more attention???!!!

Rain man is gone

AP: Kim Peek, the Murray man who inspired the 1988 movie "Rain Man," died of a sudden heart attack. Peek, 58, was likely the world's most famous savant, enduring mental handicaps while at the same time possessing extraordinary gifts of memory and recall.

"He had a depth and breadth of knowledge and a memory that was just unbelievable," said Daniel Christensen, a professor with the University of Utah's Neuropsychiatric Institute. "He was unique. I don't know if there will ever be another person quite like Kim."

For those of you that don't know who rain man was shame on you..and for you that did you know that movie was and still is a classic...rip

Yale bound

Ray Crouch, a senior at Danbury High School, logged onto the computer in his family’s living room just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday and entered the Web site of the Yale admissions office.Suddenly the screen turned blue — Yale blue — and an image of a bulldog, the university mascot, appeared, followed by “Welcome to the Class of 2014.” Ray, 18, had been offered a spot in the next freshman class, under its early-admission program. Standing behind him, his mother, Caroline, screamed.

But that was only the beginning. Moments later, Ray’s brother, Kenny, also 18, went to the Yale site and got an identical message. He was followed by their sister Carol. Same news. Then the room fell silent. Ray, Kenny and Carol are quadruplets, and their sister Martina had applied to Yale, too. “I was thinking, it’s going to be really awkward when I don’t get in,” Martina recalled Friday. But the computer turned blue for her as well, which prompted such an outpouring of joy from their mother that she wrestled their father, Steven, to the floor in a hug. The Crouches’ perfect batting average represents a first for Yale — the first time in anyone’s memory that it has offered admission to quadruplets. It is also, of course, no small milestone for the siblings, who were born more than two months premature. (Ray was the last to be released from the neonatal unit, more than four months later.) They made up for that rough start. Their class rankings range from 13 out of a class of 632 (Kenny) to 46 (Martina) — and they have sky-high SAT scores (including Carol’s perfect 800 on the verbal part of that exam).

One advantage that Yale may hold in landing the four Crouch children is that they seem reluctant to part, after being inseparable for so long. Which is not to say they have not imagined what it would be like to go solo.

As Kenny put it: “It might be fun to go somewhere where I’m not ‘one of the quads.’ ”

What a blessing for this entire family!

Jesus please take the wheel

This has got to be one of the sickest shit I have ever heard. A couple in Texas have been arrested for inducing an abortion and putting the fetus in a gift box, after trying to flush it down the toilet.

Ruby Lee Medina, 31, and Javier Gonzalez, 37, of Mission, have been charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Bond was set Monday at $20,000 each.
A woman who answered the telephone at the San Juan city jail Monday night said she could not say whether Medina or Gonzalez had retained an attorney. San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez said police found the fetus inside the woman’s trailer home Thursday after getting an anonymous tip. Autopsy results are pending, but Gonzalez said police believe the woman used pills to induce an abortion Thursday, then called an ambulance after she began bleeding and told doctors she didn’t know where the fetus was. The police chief said the couple tried to flush the fetus down the toilet, but that didn’t work. “Apparently they cleaned up the fetus and they placed it inside a gift box under the Christmas tree,“ the police chief said.

Oh those mother fuckers...

19 and counting

Michelle Duggar gave birth to baby #19 last night after the reality star was rushed to the operating room for an emergency. A rep from TLC said the following, "Michelle, who has been in the hospital recovering from a gallstone, was taken to the OR for an emergency c-section."

At 6:27 PM, Michelle and Jim Bob welcomed their new daughter, Josie Brooklyn ... who weighed in at 1lb., 6 oz...that is so unfortunate, I know how it feels to have a preemie and that's about the hardest thing any parent can face.

I wonder if they are Mormon because 19 kids...man....

17 yr-old kills his 10 yr-old brother just because..

Sometimes I hate checking out what's going on in the world because usually I will end up stumbling on this.

INDIANAPOLIS - Ignoring his younger brother's plea of "Andrew, stop," a 17-year-old who told authorities he identified with a television serial killer strangled the boy, dragged the body to his car and drove to see his girlfriend, an Indiana prosecutor said Thursday. Andrew Conley of Rising Sun was calm and showed no remorse or emotion as he described strangling 10-year-old Conner Conley as the two wrestled Sunday, a probable cause affidavit said. Conley told investigators he dumped his brother's body near a park in the Ohio River community about 90 miles southeast of Indianapolis.

Fantasies of killing

The teen told investigators he had had fantasies about killing someone since he was in eighth grade, including cutting somebody's throat, and felt "just like" the serial killer Dexter on the Showtime television series of the same name. He said killing his brother satisfied a craving like a hamburger satisfied hunger. "Like I had to ... like when people have something like they are hungry and there is a hamburger sitting there and they knew they had to have it and I was sitting there and it just happened," Conley told investigators in the affidavit.

The affidavit in Conley's case described him killing his brother before visiting his girlfriend and other friends. It said:

The two brothers were wrestling while their parents were at work. Conley put Conner in a headlock, causing the younger boy to pass out and fall to the floor. Conley dragged Conner to kitchen, put on a pair of gloves and choked the younger boy for about 20 minutes until he noticed blood flowing from Conner's nose and mouth.

He told investigators the child's last words were "Andrew, stop."

Body in the trunk

Conley put a plastic bag over his brother's head, secured it with black electrical tape, and dragged the body by its feet down steps to the basement and then from the home to his car. Conley struck Conner's head on the ground several times before putting the body in the trunk of the car. With the body still in the trunk, Conley drove to his girlfriend's house and gave her a sweetheart ring. She told investigators Conley "seemed happy, more happy than she had seen him in a while."

Conley also told investigators that on the morning of Conner's death, he stood over his sleeping father with a knife and thought about killing him. Conley went to police Sunday night, admitted killing Conner and told investigators where to find the body.

This is why I go weeks without checking the news...
